Gigabyte, MSI, and many others exist \u2014 all established brands that have stood the test of time \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xfxforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">XFX<\/a> sort of <em>feels <\/em>out of place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It's not as alluring, it doesn't scream top notch performance, it doesn't instill one with absolute confidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><noscript><img that comes to mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s the thing, though:<\/strong> XFX might not be as popular as, say, ASUS or Gigabyte, but its products definitely stand out from the crowd for both their incredible prowess <em>and<\/em> price-to-performance ratio.<\/p>\n<p>And since they're AMD-only, they may have an ace up their sleeve in that area, right?<\/p>\n<p>Let's see:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_XFX_a_Good_GPU_Brand\"><\/span>Is XFX a Good GPU Brand?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It absolutely is! Its graphics cards can, by all means, stand on equal ground with the biggest and most <a href=\"https:\/\/g100.us\/gpu-brands-amd-nvidia\/\">popular GPU brands<\/a> out there \u2014 <em>the MSIs and Gigabytes of the world.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have a bad \u201crep\u201d nor does it produce subpar products; it just doesn\u2019t have the same kind of presence compared to its biggest competitors which, in part, is because of XFX\u2019s limited marketing budget and highly focused (or <em>specialized<\/em>, rather) product portfolio. Offering AMD GPUs only is certainly part of the reason their mind-share is somewhat limited.<\/p>\n<p>That, however, should not dissuade you from purchasing one of its graphics cards \u2014 <strong>especially if said GPU happens to be well-reviewed and can be bought for a reasonable sum of money.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your analysis and research \u2014 when buying a new GPU \u2014 should be focused on individual <em>products<\/em> and product <em>generations<\/em>. <strong>Companies make mistakes all the time and, sadly, that\u2019s just something we all have to live with.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Take PowerColor, for instance.<\/strong> It had the absolute worst RX 5000 series GPUs and some mind-boggling RMA rates.<strong> And then, as if through magic, it had one of the best-performing and most effective implementations of AMD\u2019s RDNA 2 architecture. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, within the span of just a <em>single <\/em>generation, PowerColor went from being a tremendous \u201cdud\u201d to a stellar, stand-out option.<\/p>\n<p>It all varies from one product to the next, so make sure to dig into benchmarks and consume as many reviews as you possibly can before making any kind of purchasing decision.<\/p>\n<p>The GPU market <em>has<\/em> stabilized quite a bit over the last few months, but it\u2019s still in a state of flux.<\/p>\n<p>XFX, much like PowerColor, is a respected brand and much of the same can be said for its GPUs as well \u2014 <strong>especially once we factor in their price-to-performance ratio.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iJlEDiCnq0c\" width=\"860\" height=\"515\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; The card itself offers pitiful performance (RX 6400), but it\u2019s still nice to have the option.<\/p>\n<p>Now onto the acronyms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SWFT<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>QICK<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>MERC<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They go from the most affordable to the most spec\u2019d out. There <em>are<\/em> a few differences, though, but they mostly pertain to aesthetics and a slight variance in operating frequency.<\/p>\n<p>QICK, for instance, has a plastic fan shroud and no RGB. MERC, on the other hand, has a <em>metal <\/em>frame and a tad bit of (non-addressable, single color) \u201cRGB\u201d \u2014 nothing too preposterous, though.<\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wTmMCw4Xic0\" width=\"860\" height=\"515\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/noscript><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"860\" height=\"515\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wTmMCw4Xic0\" class=\" lazyload\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Depending on the model, they can also come with a slightly different port selection. <\/strong>Some MERC models, for instance, have a single HDMI port (2.1), two DisplayPorts (1.4a), and even USB-C. SWFT, on the other hand, has <em>three<\/em> DPs and a single HDMI.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re just looking for a reliable and powerful GPU that doesn\u2019t cost an arm and a leg, the <strong>SWFT<\/strong> is definitely the way to go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The XFX MERC, on the other hand, is generally considered as one of the best air-cooled Radeon GPUs on the market, and much of the same can be said for its build quality as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These are all stellar products, but if you don\u2019t have the budget \u2014 and want an XFX card specifically \u2014 going with a QICK or SWFT also makes a ton of sense, especially from a value perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for those who prefer to have something a bit more unique and high-end, there\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xfxforce.com\/shop\/xfx-speedster-zero-amd-radeon-tm-rx-6900xt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ZERO EKWB Waterblock Limited Edition<\/a>. As already mentioned, you should always do a bit of research for the particular model you\u2019re interested in, but \u2014 in general \u2014<strong> XFX GPUs offer tremendous performance for the asking price.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re a highly recommended option if you don\u2019t want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on your graphics card.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, they\u2019re cooled properly, have (depending on the model) powerful VRMs, and are certainly stunning to look at. Its GPU die \u2014 at 4K, no less \u2014 doesn\u2019t go over the 66-degree mark (Celsius) with its fans spinning at a measly 1200 RPM.<\/p>\n<p>The reference model from AMD, on the other hand, is a whopping nine degrees warmer despite the fact that its fans are spinning at a much more noticeable 1600 RPM.<\/p>\n<p>So if it\u2019s low fan noise you\u2019re after, XFX has you covered.
