How far can an Intel Celeron processor get you today?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s find out.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Intel_Celeron\"><\/span>What is Intel Celeron?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Celeron is Intel\u2019s branding for their bottom-tier line-up of CPUs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>These are meant to be used only for the most undemanding of workloads.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even a measly Intel Pentium CPU can handily outperform a Celeron. It might not be the most <em>advisable <\/em>option, but it <em>will <\/em>get the job done.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Note - From a value standpoint, Celerons are terrible. A modern Core i3 would cost not much more (an additional $40 or so) for exponentially better performance. I recommend looking into the used market if you're severely limited by budget. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_You_Game_on_Intel_Celeron\"><\/span>Can You Game on Intel Celeron?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Laptop variants of Intel Celeron fall under the \u201cwhat you see is what you get\u201d category.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re incredibly weak compared to the vast majority of Intel\u2019s product stack, which makes them practically useless for anything that requires even a morsel of CPU power.<\/p>\n<p>Desktop variants, on the other hand, have a bit more <em>oomph<\/em> compared to their laptop counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>That, however, should by no means fool you: <strong>they\u2019re still a far cry from being deemed as \u201cpowerful.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Technically speaking, you <em>can<\/em> game on a Celeron, but you\u2019ll really have to keep your expectations in check.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, you will <em>not<\/em> be playing any recent AAA titles. Nearly every such game requires a minimum of 4 CPU cores which Intel Celerons simply do not have.<\/p>\n<p>Here's what it looks like to run a Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark on an Intel Celeron G6900.
